Branding and creative

Look like the business you've become

Many businesses grow past their logo and message. We work out what makes you the obvious choice, then turn it into a clear identity: name lines, colours, type and templates your team can actually use.

The short answer

Does a small business need a full rebrand?

Often not. Most businesses that have outgrown their look need a sharper one-sentence position, consistent colours and type, and templates their team can actually use. We start with positioning, refresh the identity only as far as needed, and update your website, profiles and WhatsApp templates to match.

Common questions

Do I need a full rebrand?
Often not. If customers recognise your name and logo, a refresh that sharpens the message and makes everything consistent usually does more than starting over. A full rebrand makes sense when the name or identity actively confuses people or no longer fits what you do.
What is brand positioning?
Positioning is the short, clear answer to who you serve and why they should choose you over the alternatives. Written as one sentence your team can repeat, it shapes your website headline, your ads and how people refer you. Everything else in branding should follow from it.
How long does a branding project take?
Most projects take four to six weeks: listening and positioning first, then identity design, then templates and roll-out to your website and profiles. Smaller refreshes can be quicker. Timelines depend partly on how fast decisions and feedback come from your side. We agree the timeline in the plan before starting.
Do you design logos?
Yes, as part of an identity: a refreshed or new logo, colours and typography that work together on a phone screen, a signboard and a WhatsApp profile picture. A logo on its own rarely fixes a brand problem; consistency across everything you publish does. You'll see it in real contexts before deciding.
What templates do you provide?
Usually social post templates, a brochure or catalogue layout, a proposal or quotation format, WhatsApp message templates and email signatures. They're built so your team can use them without a designer, which is what keeps the brand consistent after we leave. We pick the templates based on what your team actually sends.
Will you update my website and Google profile?
Yes. Roll-out includes updating your website, Google Business Profile, social profiles and WhatsApp business profile to the new identity and message. A refresh that only lives in a PDF never reaches customers, so we treat roll-out as part of the job. Signboards and printed materials can follow when you're ready.
How much does branding cost?
It depends on whether you need positioning only, a refresh or a full new identity, and how many templates and touchpoints are included. We quote after a short conversation, with a fixed price for the scope before any work starts. You own all the final files.
Who owns the logo and design files?
You do. On completion you receive the final logo files, colour codes, fonts guidance and editable templates. There are no licence fees for using your own brand. If fonts require a licence for commercial use, we tell you before choosing them. Files are delivered in formats your printer and team can use.
Do you also name businesses?
We can help when a name genuinely holds you back, for example when it's easily confused with a competitor or doesn't fit what you now do. Renaming is a bigger decision, with legal checks and customer recognition to consider, so we discuss the trade-offs first.
Can you work with our existing brand guidelines?
Yes. If you already have guidelines, we work within them and fill the gaps, such as templates, WhatsApp messages or website sections that never got designed. Many projects are about applying an existing brand consistently rather than inventing a new one. Consistency usually matters more than novelty.
Do you do packaging design?
We focus on identity, digital and print materials such as brochures and templates. For packaging for D2C products, we can define the brand system and work alongside a packaging specialist, so the box, the store and the WhatsApp messages feel like one brand. We coordinate so everything matches.
How do you make sure customers like it?
We talk to a few real customers early, test the positioning sentence against how they describe you, and show options in real contexts, such as a phone screen or a shop sign, rather than on a blank page. Decisions based on context are usually better ones.
Can a rebrand hurt my search rankings?
A visual refresh doesn't affect rankings. Changing your business name or website addresses can, so we keep addresses where possible, set up redirects and update your Google profile carefully. Done properly, any dip is small and short. We tell you before launch exactly what changes, and what we've done to protect your search traffic.
Can you also write our website copy?
Yes. Positioning naturally leads into website copy, and we often write the key pages as part of the project or through our website development service. Clear copy that follows the new positioning is where most of the benefit of a refresh shows up. It keeps the voice consistent.
What do you need from us?
Time for two or three conversations, access to a few customers if possible, your current materials and honest feedback on options. Quick decisions keep projects on schedule. We'll send a short list of what to gather before the first meeting. Projects move fastest when one person decides.
